Dog Obedience (for Home) Beginner - Level 1

 

Min. age 4 months. First meeting no dog. Shot records due first class. Commands of sit, heel, down, come and stay will be covered, along with some show obedience rules, home obedience, agility, and Rally by providing instructions and demos.

 

Your dog will have the chance to learn to walk on a loose leash, pay attention to you, and wait in a sit position to be fed and other important areas. Positive training techniques encouraged. A Training lead will be provided.

 

Additional areas that may be demonstrated or discussed - Dental Care, Nail Clipping, Toy Safety, Food and Treats, Vaccinations, CGC- Canine Good Citizen (we will train for this), Food Bowl Control, Loose Leash walking, Reliable Recalls.

 

Location: Marion Williamson County Armory, Marion, IL.

Located behind the airport - from Rt.13 take Redco Drive North pass frontage rd and go to 1st street on left (Minute Man Dr.) turn Left and follow to Armory.

 

Summer 2013 Session Starts Tuesday June 18th

Meets Tuesday's,    6:30 pm to 7:50 pm

Sessions: 8, Tuition & Fee check JALC Web site for amounts

COM: $10.00 fee payable to instructor first night of class.

If we have enough students an additional class will be added at an earlier time.

All Students (anyone repeating the class is not required to attend the first class) are required to attend the first class at 6:30pm at the Armory to fill out paperwork and for instruction, discussion and demo's. No Dogs at 1st class. Instructor: Carol Ely

You might also be interested in Pet CPR/First Aid class being offered before the Beginner Obedience class, at the same location.

Since dogs are not allowed for the first night of Beginner Obedience class this is the perfect opportunity to take a Pet First Aid class. It is only being offered this one day at the same location (Marion, Armory).

Dog Obedience - Private Sessions – 

Liability release req. to be signed before training.

First class is with dog. Shot records due first class. Before starting first session please go to "Student Info" link at the top of this page and print the information for Private Training Sessions.

Arrive at least 10-15 min before your session time to potty your dog and setup your training bag (toys, treats & water).

 

To first session bring paperwork, payment, dog, toys, treats, water bowl and water, also clean up bags for your dog.

Note: 30 min is usually enough time for the first training session for one dog and handler
